Tapestry Homes has formed a partnership with award-winning, Home From Home, to manage the day-to-day operations of its Tapestry Orphan Homes in Kayamandi, South Africa.

Home From Home is a Cape Town-based non-profit organization that will bring a holistic, Christ-centered approach to the management of the Tapestry Orphan Homes by providing food, clothing, educational opportunities, counseling, mentorship and medical attention to our girls, in addition to teaching them the life-skills necessary to lead successful and productive lives.

“Our first goal was to physically build safe homes that would provide refuge to the abandoned and abused teenage girls of Kayamandi who do not have a place to call home”, said, Rose Ratkovich, Tapestry Homes Director of Sponsorships.  “Our partnership with Home From Home, will enable us to accomplish our second goal of providing comprehensive care for our girls that will help them gain the necessary education, skills and confidence to reach their God-given potential”.  Alex Carpenter will team-up with Home From Home to continue her outstanding work mentoring and counseling the girls.

Home From Home was founded in 2005 by Jane Payne and Pippa Shaper who together have more than 40 years successfully caring for the orphaned and fostered children of South Africa.  In 2010, Home From Home received the prestigious Stars Foundation, “Rising Star Award” amongst 50 countries for its community-based foster care program for orphaned, abused, neglected and vulnerable children in South Africa.  Click here to learn more.
