Tapestry Homes

The Problem

Fifteen million children have been orphaned by AIDS in Sub-Sahara Africa. Every 14 seconds a child is orphaned by AIDS. In South Africa, AIDS has claimed the lives of parents and relatives leaving more than 1.2 million children without loving family members to care for them.

Feelings of abandonment, isolation and hopelessness grip each one of these desperate children. Imagine having to subject yourself to emotional, physical and sexual abuse just to have a roof over your head and food to nourish your body. And yet, in these poverty-stricken villages, God's boundless strength finds refuge in the heart of these tenacious and loving children--each one of them precious in the eyes of God. This is God's calling on our hearts. This is what fuels our passion.
